Mission of Okauchee Lake Sailing School
Encourage, develop, promote, and foster amateur yachting and yacht racing in the inland lakes of the US by providing professional instruction for students wishing to become recreational sailors and learn basic sailing and water safety skills, and;
Support and develop amateur athletes for national or international competition in sailing by providing professional coaching for athletes striving to become competitive sailors and learn advanced skills, tactics, strategy and racing psychology
The Okauchee Lake Sailing School is organized exclusively to foster national sports competition as defined under sections 501(c)(3).
Classes are open to all youth regardless of race, color or creed.

2009 Instructor Bios
Alex Kay
Alex is head instructor for IOD and X boats in 2009. Alex will be a Freshman in college this fall. He has been sailing on Okauchee for many years, most recently skippering a C boat. Alex is taking US Sailing level 2 training this spring. In X boats, Alex has finished 5th,7th 1st in ILYA; 1st in WYA in ‘06. Blue Chip Attendee three times, with 1st & 6th finishes. Also 1st place finishes in TRAP Jr., Sr, Quint. ’07
Alex Jerred
Alex is from Lac La Belle, and will be US Sailing level one certified by summer. He is currently attending Burke Mountain Academy in Vermont. He sailed IOD’s for many years, finishing in trophy contention at numerous regattas for 6 years. In X boats, Alex finished 5th once and 6th twice at the TRAP and finished 6th at the ILYA Senior Championships at Oshkosh last year.
Kyle Stack
Kyle is from Lac La Belle, and will be US Sailing level one certified by summer. He attends Glenbrook North High School. Kyle in a long time IOD sailor. In X boats, Kyle won the GLSS and TRAP (Senior ) regattas and placed 2nd at the ILYA Junior Inland in 2004. Kyle was a three time qualifier to the X Blue Chip.
